lands' end competition

2016 First place winner

My coat, "WOVEN" was the 2016 First Place winner of the annual Lands' End Coat Design competition. My submission took into consideration many aspects including functionality, sustainability, and a deep understanding for the Lands' End target customer. To emulate Lands' End commitment to sustainability, gray fleece making up the majority of the coat is made from recycled water bottles. The many functions of the coat were specifically added for the target customer in mind and include:

  • a removable, water repellent hood and cape
  • a two way full zipper enclosed by a storm flap secured with snaps
  • a sailors hook in the back for a complimentary light to attach to when walking in the dark
  • inside zippered chest pocket
  • spandex thumb loops in sleeves for maximum comfort
